1. Math Upcoming Events: ELAR
This week we reviewed our addition and subtraction strategies and used the strategies to solve word problems. We learned and discussed how to locate the important information in a word problem and how to underline that information.
We practiced our addition and subtraction math facts 0-20 with automaticity. We also played addition and subtraction games using our strategies to promote automaticity with our math facts.

Fluency
Science: This week we reviewed Magnets. We know that in order for an item to be magnetic, there must be iron in it! We had fun exploring our classroom with magnets.
Social Studies: This week we started our Government Unit! We focused on the importance of rules and laws. We learned that the government’s job is to keep us safe. We also had fun learning about the history of Thanksgiving and we did some fun Thanksgiving activities!
ELAR
This week in ELAR we read and discussed different Tall Tales, including John Henry, Johnny Appleseed, Old Dry Fry, Paul Bunyan, and more! We even wrote own Tall Tales and shared them with the class. 
Next week we will be looking at Fairy Tales and the characteristics that make these stories Fairy Tales.
We had fun writing about what we are thankful for. We also did creative writing with a turkey as the main character.
