What is the difference between asking the audience if they have questions or opening up to a discussion? Questions – used for getting more information or for clarifying a point. assumes that the speaker has some specialist knowledge and the audience has only come to listen.

What is the difference between asking the audience if they have questions or opening up to a discussion? Discussion – suggests that the audience and speaker are more equal (even if they are not). commonly used when a decision has yet to be made, if plans are being developed, or if the speaker is talking about theoretical ideas.

Summary vs. Conclusion What is the difference between a summary and a conclusion? Summary – restates what has already been said in the presentation. Conclusion – grows out of the presentation. It contains recommendations, next steps, lessons learned, etc. It may include a summary.
