A group of words, beginning with a preposition, which show direction, place, or time. During the middle of class, Kerry burped loudly.

Use an appositive A group of words set beside another noun/pronoun to explain it Dr. Galipeau, my English teacher, is nuts! My social studies class, which I have in the middle of the day, is so much fun.
