Existentialism
WHY? As existentialism believes in the personal interpretation of the world, I believe that my students will become more critically-minded individuals in dealing with materials in my class and more creative in expressing their output in the end. Further, they will become more independent in seeing practicality and usefulness, real facts, and well being in contents of all forms of materials and learn from them with personal growth. Thus, self-reflection will lead them to better learning at present and in the future.
HOW? As effective materials we are using in my class are arranged according to their needs, students will be able to see connection from one topic to subsequent topics that are related to life experiences as they study further. The chosen topics are taught with questions and reading passages before they do conversations tasks where they can share their opinions and knowledge, thus making them more expressive and assertive.
