2. TKAM Themes Coming of Age/Growing Up
In your group, use your TKAM books to find three specific quotes and/or examples of your assigned theme. Don’t forget to include page numbers and characters involved. Create a poster to be shared under the projector. Your theme and quotes should be visible.
The following themes are to be examined:
Coming of Age/Growing Up
Prejudice/Discrimination of All Types (gender, racial, age, etc.)
Point of View/Perspective
Courage
The Importance of Family
The class will then jigsaw the information.
All students will take notes on theme in their journals.
