2 Intasc Standard, Description, and Rationale
Standard #1 Learner Development: -The teacher understands how learners grow and develop, recognizing that patterns of learning and development vary individually within and across the cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical areas, and designs and implements developmentally appropriate and challenging learning experiences. Description: -For this assignment I made a “Why I Want to Teach” PowerPoint. The PowerPoint discusses my reasoning for wanting to teach and the traits that I possess that make for an effective teacher. It also describes what I look for in my students and in the community that I teach in. Then finally, it goes through the contributions that I will make to the profession. Rationale: -To document my understanding of Standard #1, Learner Development, I selected to include my “Why I Want to Teach” PowerPoint. This assignment shows how every student will have different characteristics and will develop differently. It also shows that learner growth and development is vital in the education profession.

-Getting involved in the community -Interacting with the students and parents -Giving full effort everyday -Thinking outside the box for lesson plans -Emphasizing the fun in learning and growing as a person
