Federal Republic – power is divided among different levels Parliamentary Democracy – The president is the chief of state, but the prime minister holds executive power The government is having conflict with various religious groups

ss7cg7a People’s Republic of China:
Communist State – Government controls most of the land and businesses Oligarchy – beyond the local level, typically only members of the Chinese communist party (6% of China) can participate in the government

ss7cg7a State of Japan: Constitutional Monarchy- emperor is the chief of state and his powers are limited by the constitution: Emperor is a “symbolic leader” who represents Japan’s history and culture Parliamentary Democracy – Led by the prime minister
