Cornell Notes This strategy is about teaching students how to take notes and organize information Why its good: It will make reading informational texts easier It helps you to summarize a large amount of text so you get just the gist of it Gives you reference notes that you can later use to study…its your study guide

How it works Paper must be divided into two columns so that the left column is about a third of the page ONLY

Then… Draw a line to distinguish between one topic and the next OR skip a line Write your second topic, take notes on it Continue until you finish all the notes you have been assigned.
