Activity Directions Skim through all event cards. Organize them into regions. Also divide those you know from those you are unfamiliar. Begin placing the events that you know on the timeline. Use your critical thinking and logic skills to place the additional event cards. What events would follow others? What do you know about regional beginnings in industrialism? Which events are causes? Effects? Call to be checked for completion/accuracy.

Look up the dates for each event. In addition, review the content on each as you place the card. Review the timeline for trends. Investigate what would cause these trends. Trace regional differences/similarities. What accounts for the differences/similarities? Evaluate the impact of political settings, geography (availability of resources), and social movements. What overall conclusions can be made about the Industrial Age? Industrialism in Japan (as compared to the other regions)?
