Graded work: How Do You Know? Define a candle (to someone who has NO IDEA): Use as many descriptions as possible How could you test it to know it is a candle? What would be those test results if it is a real candle? ie: I would burn it; Wax would melt

Science: Process to explain the world around us (It has a purpose!) Observation: A fact from using our 5 senses Inference: An explanation of why we observe what we do Graded Work: Science & Observations The banana is rotting because it is old. Observation or Inference? The banana has brown spots. Miss K mixes chemicals and the bubble. Is that science? Explain why or why not. How could that be made more scientific? ie: Record data (bubbles, etc.)

Use the Uno cards and ruler Measure the BOX (Not the cards inside – leave them inside) What you need for credit What you measured How you measured it (ie: length, area, volume, etc.) Units & measurement (ie: 2 cm, or cm squared, or cm cubed)
