What is op art? Op art, also known as optical art, is a style of visual art that makes use of optical illusions. Op art works are abstract, with many of the better known pieces made in black and white. When the viewer looks at them, the impression is given of movement, hidden images, flashing and vibrations, patterns, or alternatively, of swelling or warping.

Elements and principles of art in op art
Op Art predominately makes use of the Art Elements line, shape, and color. Op Art also emphasizes the Art Principles pattern and movement.

Op Art cube Instructions
Write your name on the back of each square. Sketch out different op art designs on each of your six squares. Color in and finish the op art designs using colored pencil or marker. The teacher will laminate these. When you get your laminated squares back, tape them together, forming a cube. Ta-da! You have an op art cube!
