What are waves? A wave is a disturbance that transfers energy from one place to another. Waves transfer ENERGY, not Matter

What are 2 types of waves? Mechanical Waves: Waves that require a medium (a material such as a solid, liquid, or gas) to travel. Examples: Sound waves, seismic waves, water waves

What are 2 types of waves? 2. Electromagnetic Waves: These waves DO NOT require a medium to travel. These waves come from the sun and can travel through space! Examples: Visible light, radio waves, microwaves, x-rays, etc.
