2 What is Dual Enrollment?
Students may take in-person or online courses at FAU (Florida Atlantic University), PBSC (Palm Beach State College), or UF Online (University of Florida) Courses count for high school credit AND college credit Grades are recorded on high school transcripts AND college transcripts The school district pays tuition and book fees!

3 Dual Enrollment Requirements: FAU and PBSC
3.0 GPA (unweighted) College ready test scores (can be combined): SAT: 24 Reading, 25 Writing, 24 Math ACT: 19 Reading, 17 English, 19 Math PERT: 106 Reading, 103 Writing, 114 Math Accuplacer: 83 Reading, 83 Writing, 72 Math Student and parent must sign and abide by the dual enrollment agreement (ACHS Dual Enrollment) PBSC only: students must attend an information/advising session on campus

4 Dual Enrollment Requirements: UF Online
Juniors and Seniors only 3.6 GPA (unweighted) College ready test scores: PSAT: 1130 SAT: 1100 ACT: 22 composite Student and parent must sign and abide by the dual enrollment agreement (ACHS Dual Enrollment) UF Dual Enrollment Visit this website for more information or to apply Once you apply, UF will contact your counselor for approval

5 Dual Enrollment (DE) Agreement
DE grades are a permanent part of the high school AND college transcripts Students may take a maximum of 8 credits (2 courses) per semester Students who earn a D, F, or W (withdraw) are no longer eligible for DE Attendance is mandatory and students can be withdrawn for non-attendance Students are responsible for their own transportation

6 Dual Enrollment (DE) Agreement
Students will receive a book voucher and MUST return books at the end of the semester to avoid being placed on obligation DE students MUST follow the college’s rules, regulations, codes of conduct, and academic expectations Students are responsible for communicating with their college professor re: grades There is no SIS Gateway in college and parents do not have access to grades, assignments, conferences, etc.

7 Steps to Dual Enrollment: PBSC
Follow the DE checklist (ACHS Dual Enrollment) If you do not have SAT/ACT scores, register for the PERT (it’s free the first time at PBSC) Apply for admission: PBSC Register to attend an advising session View the online course catalog and schedule and select your course(s) plus alternates; be aware of DAYS and TIMES offered! Make an appt with your counselor and bring your signed DE agreement, test scores, and list of chosen courses plus alternates

8 Steps to Dual Enrollment: PBSC
Take your permission form, test scores, and GPA to the registrar’s office at any PBSC campus Register for your course(s) online via your PantherWeb account (48 hour wait time) Show your schedule to your counselor for a book voucher form Bring your printed schedule AND book voucher to Booksmart (across the street from PBSC) After your course ends, RETURN your book(s) to Booksmart and bring/ a copy of your receipt to your counselor or Mrs. Andreula in the IBO

9 PBSC Finish4Free Award for full tuition and registration fees for selected students who have earned 30 or more college credits to complete their Associate degree Graduating high school seniors with a minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA  Renewal Cumulative GPA: 3.0 Must enroll for classes during the fall term following high school graduation Must have 30 College credits by the time of graduation (Dual Enrollment, AP, IB, or AICE)  Able to renew if continuing with PBSC Bachelor's program

10 Steps to Dual Enrollment: FAU
FAU Dual Enrollment Complete the high school DE application If you do not have SAT/ACT scores, register for the PERT or Accuplacer View the online course catalog and select your course(s) plus alternates; be aware of DAYS and TIMES offered! Complete and print your own permission form (on FAU site) Make an appt with your counselor and bring your signed DE agreement, test scores, and permission form FAU also requires an immunization form

11 Steps to Dual Enrollment: FAU
Take your permission form, test scores, GPA, and immunizations to the registrar’s office at FAU Register for your course(s) online via your FAU student account Show your schedule to your counselor for a book voucher form Bring your printed schedule AND book voucher to Booksmart (across the street from FAU) After your course ends, RETURN your book(s) to Booksmart and bring/ a copy of your receipt to your counselor or Mrs. Andreula in the IBO

12 Important Dates FAU deadline for application and permission form
Summer, 2019: 4/5/19 Fall, 2019: 5/31/19 FAU registration dates Summer, 2019: 6/17/19 (classes begin 6/22/19) Fall, 2019: 8/12/19 (classes begin 8/17/19) PBSC registration dates (no specific deadline) Summer, 2019: 3/19/19 (classes begin 6/27/19) Fall, 2019: 4/25/19 (classes begin 8/22/19) 48 hour delay between submitting permission form and ability to register online UF deadline Fall, 2019: 5/5/19

13 Dual Enrollment Tips Plan ahead, as counselors are not here during the summer. Complete your paperwork before the school year ends! Use dual enrollment to explore your interests, as this may help you narrow down possible fields of study for college/career Choose subject areas you are strong in! As and Bs are beneficial for your transcript and college admissions Cs may negatively impact college admissions FREE tutoring is available at PBSC and FAU! PBSC: FAU:
