2 September 14, 2015 Agenda: Essay-Peer Editing and Final Draft
Directions: In groups of three you will edit your papers. Pay attention to the instructions on the peer editing rubric. Your essay should be read and edited by two other students. When finished with this, then begin your final draft. Your final draft, along with your other work attached is due Tuesday before you walk out of class. If you have an unexcused absence, your work is late.

3 September 15, 2015 Agenda: Essay Discussion, Final Draft, Turn in Essay Packet Directions: Complete the final draft of your essay. Put together all of your work: notes, prewriting, rough draft, peer editing forms, and final draft. Make sure the rubric is on the top, staple and turn into the white bins in the front of the classroom.

4 September 16, 2015 Agenda: Distribute grades and individual conferences. Directions: You will receive copies of your individual grade sheets. At this time I will be available to discuss your current grade with you in the class. You may get your grade sheet signed by your parent for 5 bonus points. Bring back by the end of the week.

5 September 17, 2015 Agenda: Italian Renaissance
Bellwork: Begin a new section of notes titled “Italian Renaissance”. Copy the following key terms and guiding questions to help you in taking notes: Key Terms and People: Renaissance, Humanism, Secular, Baldassare Castiglione, Niccolò Machiavelli, Lorenzo de Medici, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Raphael Guiding Questions: What changes in society and in cities stimulated the beginning of the Renaissance? What ideas formed the foundations of the Italian Renaissance? What contributions did artists make to the Renaissance?

6 September 18, 2015 Agenda: CNN News, Italian Renaissance Notes, Wrap Up Bellwork: CNN Student News: Write COMPLETE SENTENCES about at least three topics covered on the news today. A short class discussion will follow.
