1 Q1, J5 Of the two stories we have read (The Most Dangerous Game and The Cask of Amontillado) which was your favorite and why? Which was your favorite character and why?

2 Spelling Skill #3 To / too / two
To: Use to as a preposition before a noun or as an infinitive before a verb. Eg. Will you come to the dance with me? We don’t need to buy that. Too: Use too as a synonym for also or to indicate excessiveness before a verb.  Eg. I would like some cake too. I have eaten too much cake.

3 Two: Use two when you want to write out the number 2.
Eg. I would like two milkshakes, please.

4 Plot Cycle Exposition, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, Resolution Conflict: The main problem / struggle that must be overcome in the plot. Internal conflict: A struggle in the character’s mind. Eg. He must learn to believe in himself. External conflict: A struggle outside of the character. Eg. She has to destroy the asteroid to save Earth from certain destruction.

5 Narration 1st person: I, me, we. 2nd person: You 3rd person: They
Omniscient narrator: Is aware of everything that is done, said or thought. Can “Read the minds” of all characters.

6 Characterization Protagonist: The main character (not always a “good guy”) Antagonist: The character working against the protagonist (not always a “bad guy”) Static Character: One who remains the same. Simple. Easy to “figure out”. Dynamic character: One who grows, adapts or changes as the plot emerges.

8 GIST Summary #2 Who? What? When? Where? Why?
Using this method, write a summary of either The Most Dangerous Game or The Cask of Amontillado. Your summary must answer all of the why? Questions, but must not be more than 50 words. This is tricky!
