What is the difference between prime and composite numbers? A prime number has exactly two factors, 1 and itself 2 x 1 = 2 7 x 1 = 7 A composite number can be written as a product of two or more prime numbers. (prime factorization) 60 = 2 • 2 • 3 • 5 = 22 • 3 • 5 1 is neither prime nor composite.

Co-prime numbers: numbers that have no other factor common other than 1 Factor: is a whole number that divides another whole number with a remainder of zero Greatest Common Factor (GCF): GCF of 2 or more numbers is the greatest number that is a factor of all the numbers Multiple: Multiple of a number is the product of that number and any non-zero whole number Least Common Multiple (LCM): least common multiple of two or more numbers is the least multiple that is common to all numbers
