4. Two types of surveys EU-SILC
Big Survey on Income and Living Conditions, quite very demanding for NSIs, a cross-sectional and a longitudinal (panel) component
Extended definition of income
Requires calibration with other household-related results: census, National account, LFS, HBS, etc..
Will be compulsory at time of EU Membership
A review of EU-SILC in 2012 may lead to changes
Serbia is willing to conduct a SILC survey
Household Budget Survey with extra modules
EU-SILC definitions to be used wherever possible
Most NSIs in Western Balkans will start with “extended HBS”
Private companies can be involved only in certain circumstances
