Many move Some form colonies of many cells Many have qualities of animals, plants or fungus

Diatoms shown here are the most prevalent oxygen producer on our planet.

6 Euglena Act like a plant Have a whip like tail called a flagellum
Reproduces asexually

7 Dinoflagellates Surrounded with plates Has two flagella
Contains toxins Responsible for “red tides”

8 Animal like Protists For example this Rotifer It is a heterotroph

Amoeba Moves with false feet called Pseudopods

14 Protist practice Using the prepared slides of the Protist practice focusing as many as you can in the time allowed. Focus under the low, then the medium power objective. Turn the high powered objective. Use only the fine adjustment knob to focus in. Draw each Protist under the highest magnification possible. Label each Protist and the magnification
