A Peek at Our Week
**We are asking parents to send $1 with their student. This will be used to purchase candy for our float that the 5th and 6th grade will be having in the parade. The students will just be asked to dress in Titans colors for the parade on Friday (navy blue, Columbia blue, and white). Students have done face paint in the past or used spray in their hair to make it blue or white.
ELA:
Test over “Off and Running” on Thursday. It is a story over running for class president.
Social Studies:
**We will be finishing up the regions of the United States and then will move onto the history of the United States this week.
Spelling:
Monday – spelling pretest (spelling lists are in your student’s binder taped on the back of their folder).
Wednesday - spelling posttest (if needed, your child will only need to take the posttest if they did not get a 100% on the pretest).
****Our students teacher, Ms. Smith, starts today in our classroom and will be here until Christmas time.

****Students are encouraged to be reading books in order to take a test in Accelerated Reading (AR). When the take a test, they receive points for that test. Each month I give the students an incentive to get AR points and then we have a big celebration at the end of the school year that they get to ‘use’ those points. The current incentive is to get 10 AR points by the end of September and they will get to eat in the classroom with the teacher.
Reminders
**Please remember to check your student’s homework folder each night as we will have them put their homework in that folder and also any other notes from Mrs. Malsam or myself. If you have something to share with us, please feel free to use this folder also.
