The Bourne Ultimatum is a film by Paul Greengrass which was released in August of 2007.

4. Set/location analysis
The location in this scene looks to be in old apartments that are not very popular to reside in because they look abandoned.
It also looks like it’s not a type of city or state in the U.S. It looks to be a foreign country.

5. Camerawork analysis
The majority of camera work in this film has a shaky “Handheld” feel to it. There are lots of expostional ELS’s to establish the setting as well.

6. Props analysis
Two of the more important props in this scene are the gun, and the object that is used to hit Jason Bourne. However some other background props give the viewer a sense of poverty in the setting. The abode that the fight is taking place in seems to be, old, beat up, and impoverished. Some props have something to do with this. For example, the tattered walls and old stained couches.

7. Lighting Analysis
There is more to lighting than what meets the eye. Filmmakers use it to subliminally suggest mood and ideas to the audience. The Bourne Ultimatum is no exception. The lighting gives off a sense of secrecy in this scene.

8. Color analysis
The colors in this scene tend to be darker colors like black, gray, and dark greens.
These dark colors help give the audience a feeling of secrecy and intensity in certain scenes such as this chase/fight scene

9. Costume, hair and makeup analysis
Unlike the Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum shows Jason Bourne in very dark clothes, mostly blacks and grays. The antagonist and the ICA are often seen in blue and gray suits. Their clothes reflects their surrounding.

10. Sound analysis
Keeping with the reality of the thriller genre, the sound effects are more reflections of real life. Such as punching, gun shots, crashes, and sirens. The director also uses music in the embedded film because he wants the watcher/viewer to feel a sense of being scared. Some of the sound effects that the director uses are the sound of the glass breaking and jason flying out of the window. Some of the other sound effects that he uses are the fake punching sounds that are foley sounds. Uses music to show that there is a sense of suspense in the embedded film.

11. Editing analysis
Cuts: The director decided to use very quick shots and a lot of cuts with a lot of motion to make it more dramatic and fast, since it’s a chasing/fighting scene. Most of the shots are very close shots.
Transitions: The transitions in this scene are very fast, short and clear.
Eyeline match: There is only a few eyeline match scenes, because this clip mostly shows fighting.
Visual effects: Director uses the slow-motion effect at one point, when he jumps from the balcony into the window.

12. Body language and performance of actors
The body language of the actors in the embedded film is that Jason bourne wants to catch the woman that is running. Desh and Bourne could probably hate each other because in the embedded film they both start to fight each other.
