103 completed surveys (representing 49% of occupied units) 73% female/27% male; 86% single or divorced 66% of respondents between ages of 25-44 75% reported having at least 1 individual under the age of 18 in the home 72% of respondents reported educational level of high school diploma or lower 45% reported as unemployed, with additional 19% disabled, and 16% actively looking for employment 49% reported having always lived in North Tulsa, with 88% of all respondents living in Comanche Park for 5 years or less Envision Comanche

People, quiet and affordability were top listed items that people liked by Comanche Park currently Crime and more opportunities for kids were top items listed for what people want to see changed most about Comanche Park Transportation was listed as the primary barrier impacting daily life 61% reported not having a drivable car 53% stated transportation as barrier to social services 60% stated transportation as barrier to financial services 81% stated transportation as barrier to obtaining and keeping employment 59% stated transportation as barrier to accessing healthcare 51% stated transportation as reason for not attending meetings or events at schools 40% stated transportation as reason for middle schoolers not taking part in after-school programming New Parks, Grocery Store, Updated Street and Lighting Improvements, and Play Areas were listed as the Most Important Neighborhood Improvements. 6 Resident Needs Assessment Update – Employment
55% of respondents stated they had access to a tablet or computer inside the home, with 52% having internet access. 67% stated cost was the biggest barrier to internet access 45% responded as being unemployed; with 8% employed full-time and 15% employed part-time. 8% of high-school aged residents reported being employed Of those employed, 23% held one job, while 4% held 2 or more jobs Restaurant/food service (58%) was the top chose field that resident currently work, followed by retail services (25%), Manufacturing/Factory (19%), Childcare (17%) and Hotel/hospitality (16%). When asked what fields a resident would like to work in, Restaurant/food service (26%) was top selection, followed by Healthcare (26%), Administrative/Office (23%), and Childcare (22%) Of those employed, 22% work on average 0-10 hours per week; followed by 12% working hours per week Envision Comanche

When looking for assistance for employment, Online Sources (53%) was top ranked, followed by Family members (46%) and Friends (40%) Transportation (81%) was listed at top barrier to finding and keeping work, followed by No Driver’s License/I.D. (47%), Childcare (36%), Health-related issues (31%), Education level (30%) and Criminal Record (30%) 56% of residents stated they were not aware of job training opportunities in the neighborhood, with 65% not using any workforce development supportive services. Job Placement (24%) and Job Training (23%) were the top utilized workforce services When asked what the top workforce development service is needed right now outside of those that marked none (45%), Job Training (38%) was the top selection, followed by Job Placement (36%) and Expungement Services (30%) 12% of respondents stated they were enrolled in an adult learning program, with GED (32%) and Associate’s Degree (10%) being the top selections Envision Comanche

City of Tulsa 2018 Retail and Marketing Study The trade area that include the 36th Street North Corridor contains 17,343 people. Median income of the trade area is $27,756 (accounting for 64% of the median for all of Tulsa), and estimating up to 13% unemployment 2774 jobs currently exist within the trade area Tulsa Equality Indicators 2018 Annual Report North Tulsa represents the smallest ratio of small businesses per 1000 residents North Tulsa represents the lowest number of existing jobs, and the lowest level of labor force participation Population of North Tulsa is 85374, with median household income of $28867 Envision Comanche
