Work and Power Easy to hard!

Equations you will need
Work = Force x Distance Power = Work / Time Force = Mass x Acceleration

Problem 1 Jon lifted a trash can 2 meters in the air to dump it in the trash. He exerted 210N of force to lift it. How much work did Jon do to lift the can?

Problem 2 If Jon lifted the can in 2 seconds and his buddy lifted the same can the same height in 3 seconds, who had the most power?

Problem 3 In order for Mary to raise her sail on her sailboat she has to exert in average force of 30N on the rope. The sail moves up 12m and it takes her 20 seconds to lift it up completely. What was her power output?

Problem 4 Henry pushes his brother on his bike a distance of 12 meters in 4 seconds. If his brother and the bike have the mass of 80 kg and he accelerates at 1.2 m/s^2, what is Henry’s power output?

Problem 5 A man is pulling a g sled 0.15 km up a hill. What is his power output if it took him 1.5 minutes with an average force on the sled being 50N?
