Robert Browning's childhood!
Robert Browning was born on May 7, 1812, in Camberwell, London, England. Both his parents passed on the love of art and literature and music. while her strong and simple religious faith provided him with an lifelong belief in the existence of God. Robert was a bright child creating "masterpieces" of jam and pencil at the age of two and attending day school as "an infant." Robert was very attached to all species of animals, hosting a wide variety of pets in his childhood. In 1828 Browning entered the University of London, but he dropped out after just half a year.

Robert Browning's adult life!
In the 1830s he met the actor William Macready and tried several times to write verse drama for the stage. At about the same time he began to discover that his real talents lay in taking a single character and allowing him to discover himself to us by revealing more of himself in his speeches than he suspects-the characteristics of the dramatic monologue. Then he became a more successful writer in poetry.

Robert Browning's marriage!
Robert Browning first met Elizabeth Barrett in 1845, after reading her poetry and corresponding with her for some time. They were married just a year later, in 1846 against the wishes of her father. A son was born to the couple in 1849, and they named him Robert "Pen" Browning. Elizabeth died in 1861.
