2. The Assignment
At the end of each chapter, students will ask and answer a question related to deeper understandings from the chapter. Students will conduct research using multiple sources in order to analyze the information and draw conclusions. Students will write a short response (1-2 paragraphs) to the question at the start of the year, with responses growing in length and information as the year progress.

3. Potential Questions (choose 1)
What impact did Enlightenment thinkers have on the leaders of the colonies?
What Enlightenment ideals are present in the Constitution?
How did people respond to Galileo’s house arrest?
Pick a field of science (astronomy, medicine, chemistry, optics, electricity, physics)- what major changes were brought about during the Scientific Revolution?
What were the major factors in the colonists’ victory over Great Britain during the Revolutionary War?
Think of your own! (Must get it approved before Monday)

4. The Set-Up
Answer the question by doing research and writing your findings in one paragraph
Be sure to cite your answer (no Wikipedia)
Paragraph should include
Topic sentence introducing the topic
Answer the question with a definitive answer and relevant historical examples
Concluding sentence wrapping up your findings
