My Question How far can the 6th graders jump against how
far the 9th graders can jump?
3
What is interesting about this?
I have always wanted to see if a 6th grader can jump farther than a 9th grader. It could depend on their size or their weight. A 9th grader could just be smarter, but a 6th grader could just beat them.
4
My Hypothesis If the 9th graders are jumping against 6th graders, then the 9th graders will jump the farthest.
5
Variables Independent: The age of the kids jumping Dependent:
How far they jump Control: The starting point and the same tape measure
6
procedure * Get a tape measure. * Have a starting point.
* Have the 6th and 9th graders jump. * Record how far they jumped with a tape measure. * See who jumped the farthest. * The 9th graders will jump before the 6th graders.

conclusion The 9th graders jumped the farthest because
they are bigger and have more strength. The 6th graders came close, but they lost. My hypothesis was right because the highest they got was 55.5 inches. I learned that 9th graders are more likely to jump farther than a younger person. I had no problems, but the thing I would change is to get more people.
