2. Solving Systems
Systems of Equations are when you have a variable on both sides of the equal sign. For example… 3x – 5 = 6x + 4 When this happens, it is best to move everything to one side of the equation by SUBTRACTING! Hint: always move the side with the smaller variable. For example… 3x – 5 = 6x + 4 -(3x – 5) -(3x – 5) **Always be sure to line-up like terms. 0 = 3x + 9 Now that the variables are on one side, solve the equation normally.
