The brain is an interesting place with many phenomenons that confuse many scientists. One of the things that confused them for many years and even today is dreams.

What is a Dream?

The break in the research started in the 1950’s when a group of scientists discovered that dreams were caused by a stage of sleep called R.E.M. sleep. R.E.M. also known as Rapid Eye Movement is the most restful stage of sleep. This has lead people to conclude that dreams are good for us in many ways! R.E.M.!!!!! Change the font?

When do We Have R.E.M. the Most?

Studies have shown that when we are younger we have more R.E.M. during our sleep. So that means that when we progress to age we have a less percentage of R.E.M. ,which is very sad because dreams are healthy for us. Percentage of our wonderful R.E.M. Newborns: 75% - 85% of R.E.M. during sleep Kids: 50% of R.E.M. during sleep Adults/Elderly: 15% - 25% of R.E.M. during sleep

Everybody has dreams every night, but we usually don’t remember all of them. Studies have shown when we remember our dreams the most.

When we get woken up during R.E.M. 82% of people remember their dreams after 10 minutes of being awake. While, only 42% of people remember after being woken up from regular sleep after 10 minutes. Dreams
