Particle model can be used to explain the phases of matter.

Strong forces of attraction
Very little movement, just vibrate
Definite structure and shape

7. 2. Liquid Particles very close Weaker forces than solid
Slide over each other
Definite volume, indefinite shape

8. 3. Gas Particles very far apart No forces of attraction
Lots of space between particles
No definite shape, nor volume

9. Atomic Model Particles that make up matter are either
ATOMS or MOLECULES
Example: a molecule of water is made up of 2 types of atoms
