1. Natural Resources - countries with lots of natural resources tend to be wealthier Other countries rely on these resources so they can sell the raw material to make $ 2. Location - if your location is central then there are lots of opportunities for trade and shipping (where you are in relation to the rest of the world) - what is near you (geograpic features that are useful, like harbours) 3.
