Civil Engineering and Architecture Unit 1 – Lesson 1.1– History of Civil Engineering and Architecture Prairie Style Architecture by Frank Lloyd Wright Frank Lloyd started to develop the style in 1889 Usually seen in homes One-two stories Materials used in this style: Plaster with wood trim was used in earlier versions Later Horizontal board and batten siding were implemented Concrete blocks and bricks were also used Located in Chicago and the Oak Park region of Illinios because Frank Lloyd lived there for a time Project Lead The Way, Inc.
