The Natural Logarithm Like we learned that log x is the common logarithm because it has a base of 10, the natural logarithm is called this because it has a base of e. Therefore, ln x = logex

Change of Base Formula One interesting thing about ln x is that it works just like log x in some cases. One such case is the change of base formula. For instance, if we want to evaluate log6254, we have two options: (log 254)/(log 6) OR (ln 254)/(ln 6)

Examples EX 1: Solve 6.5 = (ln x) EX 2: Solve 32x = 7x-1
