About Bill Owen Born in Gila Bend, AZ, in 1942
Mother was an artist, father was a cowboy Started drawing with pastels at age 7-8, had no formal training He lived a cowboy/ranching life, and became an accomplished artist of life on ranches. In 1973 he was the youngest person to the inducted into the Cowboy Artists of America. While practicing for a roping competition for a rodeo in 1989, he suffered a freak accident and lost his right eye. He has spent many years aiding and supporting the ranching community.
