DEFINITIONS Mass- the amount of matter an object has.
Matter- something that has mass and takes up space. Weight- the force of gravity acting on an object’s mass.

Measuring Mass We will be using electronic scales to find the mass of various objects. Steps to use the Electronic Scale: Plug it in and turn it on. Wait until you see 0.0 (you may have to press the zero button). Place the object on the scale. Record the measurement. Top Image: Bottom Image:
