Frida Kahlo Video On a blank piece of paper: take notes on the key ideas and details that help you understand Kahlo’s life, art, and cultural identity. These notes can be bulleted, and you should have 3- 5 notes written down.

Page 27 Reading While you read highlight anything that helps you understand Frida’s life, art, and cultural identity. Also, answer the key ideas and details questions under your video notes.

Group Discussion Discussion Rules:
Only one student per group should be talking at one time Everyone needs to contribute at least two ideas to the discussion. Have one person record the group’s ideas on a piece of paper (make sure each idea is marked with each student’s name)

Introducing OPTIC Overview- The first things/questions you think of when you look at the image. Parts- The things/ questions you think of when you are looking more closely at the parts/details of the image. Title- What might the title suggest about the image and how does it relate to the image in general? Interrelationships- Look for specific connections between the title, caption, and image. Conclusion- What is the meaning/ theme of the image?
