Academic Honesty and Plagiarism Policy
Mrs. Alsobrook Academic Honesty and Plagiarism Policy
2
What is Plagiarism? Plagiarism is pretending that an idea is yours when in fact you found it in a source. Ideas derived from another, whether presented as exact words, a paraphrase, a summary, or quoted phrase, must always be appropriately referenced to the source, whether the source is electronic, spoken, or written.
3
Plagiarism You can be guilty of plagiarism even if you thoroughly rewrite the source’s words. One of the goals of education is to help you work with and credit the ideas of others. When you use another’s idea or words or work, you must give that person credit with a citation.
