What did someone have to do before the king would give them land? What are lords? What did lords have to do in exchange for their land? What did Barons (lords) do with their land? What did Knights have to do in exchange for land? BONUS: What was the bad part of being a serf?

ran the whole town defended town and country from invasion Women Ran the whole manor

PROS living in a manor house or if you're really rich a castle you got to eat a feasts while being entertained by jesters and musicians you had servants! CONS Almost no privacy you didn't get to choose who you wanted to marry Women lived very restricted lives

Lived by the code of chivalry Performed in jousts Had to fight for the lord and king

11 Pros you got a lot of respect you received gifts from your lord you could get rich in battle Cons you had to train for years the code of chivalry was very strict you could die in battle

you had to pay high taxes your house was small and cold and dirty
