Menelaus becomes King of Sparta
2
Aphrodite guided Paris back to Troy where he was reunited with his parents.
King Priam and Queen Hecuba were so happy to see their son that they forgot about the prophecy. In Sparta, King Tyndareus was trying to choose a husband for his beautiful daughter, Helen. Many powerful kings wanted to marry her. Odysseus, King of Ithaca, suggested that Helen should be the one to pick who she married so that King Tyndareus didn’t create enemies by only choosing one man.

King Tyndareus agreed and made every man swear to defend the marriage unto death even if Helen did not pick them. Helen chose Menelaus, an old but honest man. For his wisdom, Odysseus was allowed to marry Helen’s cousin, Penelope. When King Tyndareus died, Menelaus and Helen ruled Sparta. Helen gave birth to a daughter and they lived happily.
