Same person that did pre-test counseling and test
Give results to the pt immediately after available
Let pt absorb the news
Explain what + result means
Explain the need for re-testing
Ask again about support
Information on HIV, AIDS, ARVs
Information on high risk behaviour
Motivate to tell sexual partners
Outline the next step (CD4, TB, vaccines, exam)
Allow for questions
Make follow up appointment if needed

4. POST TEST COUNSELING: negative
Give results face to face, in private
Same person that did pre-test counseling and test
Give results to the pt immediately after available
Let pt absorb the news
Explain what - result means
Explain window period and re-test in 14 weeks
