He Said, She Said Standard: RI5.6 – Analyze multiple accounts of the same event or topic, noting important similarities and differences
2
Learning Target I can identify the similarities and differences when analyzing multiple accounts of the same event.
3
New vocabulary Point of view- A particular attitude or way of considering a matter Perspective- A mental view or outlook
4
One event: multiple accounts
When an event occurs, and more than one person is involved in the event, they each get a different perspective or point of view on what happened. For Example: Bridgette and Madison get into fight while mom is cooking dinner. Mom did not see the fight so she asked them to each explain what happened when they came running down the stairs screaming at each other. Do you think that both girls will have the same story to tell?

One event, multiple accounts
Bridgette’s Perspective: Madison’s perspective: Madison barged into my room and stole my DVD. When I politely asked her to return it, she said she already did, however, it is still missing. So I entered her room to search for my missing DVD when Madison started yelling at the top of her lungs. Bridgette barged into my room searching for a DVD that I never even took from her. She probably lost it on her own! So I asked her to please leave my room and she refused and started yelling at the top f her lungs that I stole her DVD. That’s when I ran down to you, mom. One event, multiple accounts

Link If this is the same event, then why does each person have a different perspective? What did each girl want their mom to think?
