Key Terms Aspect Ratio Shot Composition

3 Key Terms Aspect Ratio- The ratio of the width of the television screen to its height. Close-up (CU)- Object or any part of it seen at close range and framed tightly. Cross Shot- Similar the the over the shoulder shot except that the camera near the person is completely out of the shot.

4 Key Terms Depth of field: The area in which all objects, located at different distances from the camera appear in focus Headroom: The space between the top of the head and the upper screen edge Leadroom: The space in front of a laterally moving object or person Long Shot/Wide (WS): Object seen from far away or framed very loosely.

5 Key Terms Medium Shot (MS): Object seen from a
medium distance. Covers any framing between between a wide shot and close up Over the Shoulder: Camera looks over the camera near person’s shoulder Z-Axis: Indicates screen depth

6 Aspect Ratio 4x3= Normal Television (Standard Definition)
16x9= Wide Screen Television (High Definition)
