Statistics Homeroom: Longbrake Indigo Group Chris, Kevin, and Tristan
2
Statistics Statistics uses graphs like a bar graph or a line graph to organize data. Then the data is used to draw conclusions and make predictions.
3
Vocabulary Key words for statistics are line graph, bar graph, data, scale, increment, predictions, and organize.
4
Line Graph Line Graph: uses line segments to join points which stand for the data on a grid.
5
Bar Graph Bar Graph: A Bar Graph is a Graph that shows data and organizes things. Example 2 is, What is the receptor on region 2.
6
Data Data is information put on a graph to show info.
7
Scale Scales are the numbers on the side of the line or bar graph that organize the data. They tell you what to count by.
8
Increment Increment means the amount of something being increased.
9
Prediction Prediction means to guess what is going to happen, by looking at what has already happened.
10
Organize Organize means to sort data and put put it on a graph, in a certain order.
11
Line Graph Example Problem
If the temperature is 50 what is the pressure? If you look at 50 and look to the left you will see it is 100.
12
Line Graph Example Answer
If you look at 50 and look to the left you will see it is 100.
13
Bar Graph Example Problem
What is the amount of receptor binding on region 2?
14
Bar Graph Example Answer
Look at the green region bar, because that is region 2. Look to the left to see that it is 50.
15
Closing Bye I hope ya’ll learned a lot about statistics.
