Number 1 from the prologue
The metaphor “Now old desire doth in his deathbed lie,/ And young affection gapes to be his heir,” is comparing Romeo’s feelings for Rosaline to a dying person, and Juliet to a young successor eager to have what her predecessor leaves. In this comparison, when Romeo’s feelings for Rosaline have passed, then Romeo’s feelings for Juliet, the “heir,” will “inherit” Romeo’s love.

2 The quote, “Now Romeo is beloved and loves again,/Alike bewitched by the charms of looks,” is a metaphor comparing good looks to a spell. In this quote, Shakespeare is saying that Romeo has fallen in love with Juliet because of her looks and vice versa.

3 In the quote, “And she steal love’s sweet bait from fearful hooks/ Being held a foe, he may not have access/ to breathe such vows as lovers use to swear,” Juliet is being compared to a clever fish. It is saying that Juliet can steal the “bait,” which is Romeo, from the “fearful hooks” which could be the family feud or the hatred between the two families.
