Personal Management Organization
2
Organization Your organizational style is your own.
Some people are natural organizers, but if you aren’t, you can still learn how to keep your life organized in a way that works for you!
3
Are you organizationally challenged?
To identify your personal organizational problems, make a list of answers for each of these questions: What kinds of things do you have trouble finding? Why? What kinds of things do you have difficulty remembering to do? Why? If you are a personal who never has trouble finding or remembering to do things, congratulations! For you lists write down the strategies that you use to keep yourself so well organized.
4
The Basics of Being Organized
Having organizational skills means being able to do two things: Knowing how to find something when you need it – your favourite shirt, your hockey socks, your pen, your homework assignment, something in your notebook… Remembering to do something that you’re supposed to do – your science assignment, being on time to meet your friend, something your boss asked you to do, buying a birthday card, early morning band practice, anything you promised your parents you would do… As long as you can do both of these thing, how you do them is really up to you! If what you are doing works for you, keep doing it. If it doesn’t work for you, be true to yourself and make a change. Try something different!

Give examples to illustrate your point. “We live in deeds, not years; In thoughts, not breaths. We should count time by heart throbs.” Aristotle “Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs.” Henry Ford “Don’t let the fear of time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it.” Earl Nightingale “Be mindful of how you approach time. Watching the clock is not the same as watching the sun rise.” Sophia Bedford-Pierce “Those who make the worst of their time most complain about its shortness.” La Bruyere “Nothing else, perhaps, distinguishes effective people as much as their tender loving care of time.” Peter F. Drucker “The bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re the pilot.” Michael Altshuler “My philosophy is that not only are you responsible for your life, but doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.” Oprah Winfrey “All the flowers of tomorrow are in the seeds of today.” Chinese Proverb “We can no more afford to spend major time on minor things than we can to spend minor time on major things.” Jim Rohn
