What Do Some Russian’s Eat On Christmas Eve?
On Christmas Eve sometimes Russians eat a porridge that’s called kutya. Kutya is made from wheat berries or other grains which symbolize hope and immortality.

Sometimes they serve it in one big bowl
Sometimes they serve it in one big bowl. You can add a lot to the kutya like honey, nuts, fruits and jelly too. Some families would take a whole spoonful of Kutya and fling it at the ceiling. According to the tradition, if the kutya stuck, there would be a plentiful honey harvest. Some people say it is just good luck if it sticks.

Ethiopians carry candles into church on Christmas Eve.

Ethiopian Christmas Eve Service
Each person lights their candle when they get into the church. Then they walk around the inside of the church 3 times. Then they take their spot where they stand because they don’t usually have chairs in the church. The church service is sometimes 3 hours long.
