2 The angle of the Sun’s rays affects the amount of solar energy received at different locations on Earth. The amount of angled solar rays reaching the Middle Latitudes (between the Tropic & Polar regions) varies greatly, whereas Direct vertical solar rays is concentrated & heats the Earth’s surface more in the Tropics (Low Latitudes).

4 Milankovitch cycles A 100,000/400,000 year cycle between a circular and elliptical orbit around the Sun. The theory also includes a shifting of Polar Axis’s every 24,000 to 41,000 years. During the thaw of the last glaciation, much of Canada’s topsoil was scraped off by glaciers and deposited in the United States.
