2
Question Which ball can I hit the farthest with a bat a baseball, softball, or tennis ball?
3
Background Why I chose this is because I love sports.I play baseball so I can hit the ball.I was curious which ball would go furthest.I got it from the internet.
4
Hypothesis If I hit a tennis ball with a bat, it will go the furthest.
5
Variables Independent- I will change the type of ball.
Dependent- Which ball will go the furthest, when hit with the bat. Constant- The bat.How I hit the ball. How fast the ball goes when pitched.
6
Material Baseball, Softball, Tennis Ball Baseball bat Dad Tape measure
Baseball Field
7
Procedure What ball can you hit the farthest baseball, softball, or tennis ball. I will go to baseball field. I will have my dad pitch. I will hit the ball. I will measure with a tape measure and graph it.

Data

The Tennis ball Averaged 83.6 feet

Conclusion Which ball can I hit the furthest with a bat a baseball, softball, or tennis ball. What I did was I went to baseball field and followed my procedures. I hit each ball three times then averaged them. That was on my data. What happened is the baseball averaged 85.6 feet. Then I switched to softball. That averaged 80 feet. Then I did the tennis ball. That averaged 83.6 feet. My hypothesis was wrong. My data showed that the baseball went the furthest. The tennis ball was 2 feet from being more than the baseball. I learned that a baseball will go further than a tennis ball.I thought it would be the tennis ball.I also learned a lot of mistakes can occur. Some problems that occurred were the pitch was too low. Sometimes the ball would get stuck in mud. What I would change is i would use a pitching machine. So the pitch was perfect every time.
