2 Geography Fiji is located in the southern hemisphere in the tropics .The capital of Fiji is Suva. Fiji has a population of around 890,000. It 332 islands in the southwest Pacific. About 110 of these islands are inhibited.

3 Climate and Weather Fiji has a warm tropical climate is the main reason for Fiji being one of the most popular beach holiday destinations. The best months for holidaying in regards to Fiji weather is late March through to early December. Maximum temperatures in Fiji rarely move out of the 31C to 26C range all year round. Fiji does have a wet season. The wet season is normally from November to April

4 Marine Environment

5 Fiji is home to the third-largest reef system in the world and thousands of beautiful marine species. It includes a variety of marine creatures; over 1,200 species of fish, beautiful coral, turtles, eels, 12 species of whales, dolphins, soft coral and much more. Fiji's marine environment continues to be threatened by overfishing. However, they now have special people who look after certain areas to control this problem.

Fiji has three major cities. They are Suva with a population of around 77,300, Lautoka with a population of around 52,500 and Nadi with a population of around 42,300.

7 Fiji has over 113 different kinds of flora or plant life
Fiji has over 113 different kinds of flora or plant life. Bamboo trees and shrubs are common in the rainforest. The beaches are filled with different kinds of pine trees. One kind of pine tree is the 30-foot vines of the lovely and resilient Beach Morning Glory,” whose purple and pink flowers can grow in seawater.

8 Fauna includes Fijian birds, reptiles and underwater life
Fauna includes Fijian birds, reptiles and underwater life. The amazing number of birds found in Fiji make the islands a paradise for bird watchers. The rain forests spread across the larger islands are home to colourful birds like musk parrots, fantails and honey eaters. Lorikeets and parrots are found. Fiji has over 30 different types of reptiles including frogs, iguana’s and geckos. Fijian underwater life includes sea snakes, dolphins, sharks and much more.
