2 Key terminology Dependent population: those in the under 15 years and over 60 years age groups. People in these age groups are dependent on those in the working age groups, either directly or indirectly for support. Dependency load: the number of people who are in the dependent age groups vs. those who are in the working age groups. If the number of dependents is too high there is a great deal of economic stress on the working people and/or the government.

8 Population Pyramid’s – Play Time
Use the website above to answer the following: Look at the population pyramid for Australia from the first date available to the last date available. What is happening to the pyramid and the overall population? Do the same for Vietnam. Find a weird or unusual population pyramid and then do some research to figure out why it might look that way.
