They sent many explorers, and one of
them was Vasco Da Gama, known for
Leading Portuguese cities from
French pirates. He first set out in 1497
With three ships:
The Sao Gabriel,
The Sao Rafael,
Berrio,
And an unknown Cargo ship
Which was lost later on.
