Ethos, Pathos, or Logos? What appeal are advertisers using to get you to buy their product? Snob Appeal, Bandwagon, Plain Folks, Repetition, Testimonial, Patriotism, Expert Opinion, Weasel Words

Objective: You have in front of you Ethos, Logos, and Pathos Cards, as well as cards with different persuasive techniques (bandwagon, snob appeal, etc). I will put an ad on the screen. Each group will analyze the ad. The first group that accurately identifies the arm(s) of the rhetorical triangle the ad is using AND the type of persuasive appeal used will win that round.

AS YOU ANALYZE THE ADVERTISMENTS: Ethos: Is it Ethical? Pathos: Does it make you feel a strong emotion? Logos: Does it make you use your sense of reason?
